After turning pro in 2000 at age 21 he quickly qualified to
join the PGA Tour and at age 25 he is going from strength to strength. In 2001 he was
Rookie of the Year and went on to win his first PGA title in 2002, the Michelob
Championship at Kingsmill. In 2003 Howell surpassed the $2-million mark for the second
consecutive season, having made the cut in 29 of 31 starts and played the most rounds on Tour
with 115. Six times he finished in the top ten including two second places, one of which
was in a playoff. |
| So far in 2004 he has accumulated $1,239,102 in official
tournament earnings and stands at 30th on the PGA Money List, having made 13 cuts from his
18 starts and registered three top-10 finishes in his last 6 tournaments. He was one of
only 3 players to shoot a sub-par round, a 68, on the tough Shinnecock Hills course on the
Saturday of this year's U.S. Open. |

| He looks likely to add to his tally of titles very soon. Last
week in the final round of the Booz Allen Classic he fought his way up to within two shots
of Adam Scott with 7 birdies but Scott was also on good form and managed to hold off the
challenge. Watch out for this young gun who is among the best of his generation. |
