Hello my
golfing friends,
I don't know about you, but I find golf frustrating at the best of
times. How humiliating must it have been for the top players in the world to give it all
they've got and struggle to break 80 around Shinnecock Hills at the weekend. Very. Still,
the 104th U.S. Open managed to produce its usual share of drama and you can read my take
on events in this week's fully illustrated PGA Report. This
week's Player Profile gives a potted history of the
career of the winner, Retief Goosen. And don't forget to check out our weekly cartoon
Strip "Off the Cart Path" which illustrates how
some of the players might have felt like reacting if there had been water hazards on the
course to add to their problems.
That's about it for now. Don't forget, if there is anything you would
like us to add to Golfing Weekly, or if you have any comments you would
like to make, just drop us a line. This is your magazine and we want you to enjoy
reading it as much as we enjoy putting it together.
All the best,
Andy Smith
