Annika Sorenstam notched up her 50th LPGA Tour victory this weekend by
winning the Office Depot Championship for the third time in the last four years. Her nine
under par total of 207 in this 54 hole event left her three shots clear of Ashli Bunch and
Meg Mallon who shared the runner-up slot on 210. Bunch's final round of 65, 7 under
par, set a new course record but was not enough to threaten Sorenstam's dominance of the
event, having led from start to finish.
33 year old Annika Sorenstam is only the sixth player in the history of the LPGA to
pass the 50 Tour victories milestone. This was her third win from four starts so far in
2004. |
