Hello my
golfing friends,
Another great week of golf to report on and the prospect of something
special to look forward to next week.
This weekend we saw the first male double winner of 2004, Miguel Angel
Jiménez, who followed up his Johnnie Walker victory in Thailand by winning the Algarve
Open de Portugal. I nearly forgot to specify "male" but seeing as Annika
Sorenstam now has 3 wins this year I thought I'd better be specific to avoid a deluge of
e-mail from our lady readers.
And we had another rookie debut winner. Zach Johnson managed to hold it
together at the end and take the spoils at the BellSouth Classic. If his Nationwide Tour
track record is anything to go by, we'll be seeing a lot more of him in the future.
As for next week - The Masters - what more do I need to say. No other
events are scheduled so we'll have a bumper write up with lots of photos. It's my favorite
of the majors and this year's field looks as good as any I can remember.
That's it for now. Don't forget, if there is anything you would like us
to add to Golfing Weekly, or if you have any comments you would like to
make, just drop us a line. This is your magazine and we want you to enjoy reading
it as much as we enjoy putting it together.
All the best,
Andy Smith
