Champions Tour.
Mark McNulty finished at 13 under to win the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am in Florida, his
debut outing on the Champions Tour. He jumped straight in at number 7 on the CT money list
with $241,000 for the victory. Larry Nelson came in one stroke behind him with Fuzzy
Zoeller and Tom Purtzer sharing third, just two shots off the pace. Zoeller came from way
down the field after shooting a 10-under final round of 61 and his winnings took him above
Craig Stadler to top the money list.
WGC-Accenture Matchplay Championship. The field has been
finalised for this week's matchplay event at La Costa resort & Spa, Carlsbad,
California and includes Tiger Woods, who will be there to defend his title. World-ranked
number three, Ernie Els has withdrawn in favour of spending time with his family. His
five-year-old daughter starts her first year of school in London, England this week. The
event is open to the top 64 players on the world rankings from the previous week plus
alternates. Two others from the qualifying 64, Kirk Triplett and Jim Furyk, have also
dropped out. Their places will be taken by Briny Baird, Shingo Katayama and John Rollins.
