O'Meara has won 30 tournaments, 16 of them on the PGA Tour including two majors. |

At age 41 he became to oldest player ever to win two majors in
the same year by taking the 1998 Masters and British Open titles and then finished off the
year by beating close friend, Tiger Woods, in the final of the Cisco Systems World Match
Play Championship at Wentworth. Consequently, he was named PGA Player of the Year for
1998. |
| Born in 1957, Mark O'Meara turned professional in 1980. Having
won the U.S. Amateur Championship the previous year. He was named rookie of the year and
never looked back. Between 1984 and 1999 O'Meara was selected to represent the United
States in no less than 17 team competitions including 5 Ryder Cups and 7 Dunhill Cups. |

Not having won a Tour event since 1998, Mark O'Meara showed
that, at the age of 47 he can still hold his own against the best players in the world. In
the photo (left) we see him being presented with the winner's trophy by His Higness Sheikh
Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai after winning the Dubai Desert
Classic on March 7, 2004. |
